Dr. Tony Tracy lectures in film theory and history at Huston School of Film and Digital Media, NUI Galway where he directs the BA programme. His research specialisms are Irish Cinema and silent and classical era Hollywood. Recent publications include Masculinity and Irish Popular Culture: Tiger’s Tales (Palgrave 2014) co-edited with Conn Holohan, “Outside the System: Gene Gauntier and the Consolidation of Early American Cinema”, Film History: An International Journal 28.1 (2016) and  “Quantifying National Cinema: The Case of the Irish Film Board 1993-2003”, Film Studies, Issue 15, 2016 (co-authored with Roddy Flynn).
