Professor Bill Rolston is an emeritus professor at Ulster University in Jordanstown (Northern Ireland). For most of his academic career he was in the Sociology Department there, but his final few years in the job were as Director of the Transitional Justice Institute. He has written extensively on Northern Ireland society, politics and culture over the years, including books and articles on the political wall murals of the North, on politically-motivated ex-prisoners and on the thorny question of dealing with the legacy of Northern Ireland’s violent past.
