Claire A. Culleton teaches British and Irish literature at Kent State University. Her books focus on twentieth-century culture and include Names and Naming in Joyce (1994), Working-Class Culture, Women, and Britain, 1914-1921 (2000), Joyce and the G-Men: J. Edgar Hoover’s Manipulation of Modernism (2004); and two co-edited collections on modernism, Modernism on File: Writers, Artists, and the FBI 1920-1950 (2008) and Irish Modernism and the Global Primitive (2008). She has been General Editor of Palgrave Macmillan’s Irish Studies series since 2004.
