Jeanette Roberts Shumaker received a Higher Diploma in Anglo-Irish literature at Trinity College Dublin in 1983, studying with Brendan Kennelly. In 1990, she received her Ph.D. in English from Claremont Graduate School in California. Jeanette is a professor of English at San Diego State University, Imperial Valley, five blocks from California’s border with Mexico. She publishes on modern Irish women writers and on Victorian fiction.
