Marie Gleeson Ó Tuathaigh has been a lecturer in Spanish language and literature at NUI Galway and Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. Her main area of interest is Spanish Golden Age literature, with particular reference to the dramatic works of Tirso de Molina. She has published an article titled “Tirso’s Pizarro Trilogy: a case of sycophancy or lèse majesty?” in the Bulletin of the Comediantes (Summer, 1986). In October, 2007, she contributed a paper to the Louvain 1607-2007 Conference at NUI Galway on the present topic under the title ‘Resolucion Varonil.
