Mary Ryan is a PhD candidate in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, Ireland. Her research focuses on feminist theory and contemporary Irish women’s literature, and she has both published and presented papers on related topics. In September 2009 she was awarded a prize for her paper at the PG-CWWN “Reading Bodies/Writing Bodies” conference in Oxford University.
