Shane Alcobia-Murphy is a lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. He has published two monographs, both of which focus primarily on Northern Irish cultural politics: Governing the Tongue in Northern Ireland (Cambridge Scholars Press, 2005), and Sympathetic Ink: Intertextual Relations in Northern Irish Poetry (Liverpool University Press, 2006). He has also edited three collections of essays on Irish-Scottish Studies: To the Other Shore (Belfast: Cló Ollscoil na Banríona, 2004), Beyond the Anchoring Grounds (Belfast: Cló Ollscoil na Banríona, 2005) and What Rough Beasts?: Irish and Scottish Studies in the New Millenium (Cambridge Scholars Press, forthcoming).
