Aída Díaz-Bild is professor of English Literature at the Universidad de La Laguna, Spain. Her research focuses mainly on contemporary British fiction, the 18th century novel written by women and the comic spirit in fiction. She is the author of Aspectos metonímicos en la obra de David Lodge (1991), Humor y literatura: entre la subversión y la liberación (2000), Charlotte Smith: la escritura como liberación (2003), and co-author of Ensayos sobre metaficción inglesa (1994).
