Daniel Nisa Cáceres holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Seville. He is Senior Lecturer in English in the Department of Philology and Translation at Pablo de Olavide University (Seville) and a member of the Research Group “Comunicación Interlingüística e Interpretación Intercultural: Representaciones Identitarias en España”. He investigates themes such as cross-dressing and gender-bending, the grotesque and representations of identity in Anglophone travel writing about Spain. His scholarly work spans contemporary Anglophone literature, classical reception, comparative literature and literary translation, with a special focus on female-authored speculative fiction and the reshaping of classical myths in the twenty-first century. His most recent contribution in this area is the volume Classical Reception and the Rewriting Turn in Contemporary Women’s Fiction (2025).
