Ian Hickey works as a Lecturer in the Department of English Language and Literature, Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick. His first monograph Haunted Heaney: Spectres and the Poetry was published by Routledge in 2021 and was joint winner of the British Association for Contemporary Literary Studies Monograph Prize. He has also co-edited Seamus Heaney’s Mythmaking with Ellen Howley, published by Routledge in 2023, and The Frontier of Writing: A Study of Seamus Heaney’s Prose with Eugene O’Brien, published by Routledge in 2024. Seamus Heaney and the Art of Translation, co-edited with Eugene O’Brien, is forthcoming from Routledge in 2025. He has published numerous journal articles and chapters on contemporary poetry, fiction and drama.
