Jennifer A. Slivka is Associate Professor of English at Virginia Wesleyan University, where she also teaches in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program and is the Director of the Office of Gender and Sexuality Equity. She researches the politics of identity, place, and trauma in twentieth century and contemporary Irish women’s writing. She has published articles on Edna O’Brien, Kate O’Riordan, Jennifer Johnston, and Philip Roth. She is co-editor of an upcoming special issue of the Journal of Medical Humanities titled, “Epidemics and Disease in Ireland: Literature, Histories, Culture,” and is a North American Representative for IASIL (International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures).
