Jennifer A. Slivka is Associate Professor of English at Virginia Wesleyan University, where she is also Coordinator (Chair) of the Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies Program, for which she is affiliated faculty. She researches the politics of identity, gender, trauma, and genre in contemporary Irish women’s writing. She has published articles on Edna O’Brien, Kate O’Riordan, Jennifer Johnston, and Philip Roth. She co-edited with Cormac O’Brien a special issue of the Journal of Medical Humanities titled, “Epidemics and Disease in Ireland: Literature, Histories, Culture”, and has forthcoming publications focusing on genre in the works of Sally Rooney and Jennifer Johnston.
