Mahdi Kashani-Lotfabadi is a scholar of Irish, Middle Eastern, and world literature, teaching and researching these fields in tandem as intersecting sites for the study of colonial and postcolonial modernity. His teaching spans short fiction, the long nineteenth-century novel, A Thousand and One Nights, Middle Eastern literature, narrative theory, religion and literature, modernism, modern tragedy, post-structuralist theory, and postcolonial studies. His research concentrates on Finnegans Wake, post-classical narratology, and the intersections of narrative with scientific and philosophical models of modernity. He is currently completing his first monograph on the Qur’an and Finnegans Wake.
