Méabh Ní Fhuartháin is a lecturer in Irish Studies at the University of Galway. Recent publications include co-editing the special issue journals, “Women and traditional/folk music” Ethnomusicology Ireland, vol. 7 (2021) and “Nótaí/Notes: Music and Ireland” Éire/Ireland Journal of Irish Studies, vol. 54/1&2 (2019). Other recent publications include “Genealogies of Irish dance in Galway, 1922-1992’ in Hardiman and After: Galway Culture and Society, 1820-2020 (2022), “Women and traditional/folk music: Building a research field” (2021), and (co-author) “Ageing masculinities and Irish traditional music on screen,” in Ageing Masculinities in Irish Life and Culture (2022).
