Muriel Domínguez Viso is a PhD student of IDAES, the Inter-University PhD Programme in Advanced English Studies at the Universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo. Her research focuses on gender, selfhood and the construction of subjectivities in life-writing and contemporary Irish fiction by female writers. Her MA Thesis, “Personal Truths and the Non-Fiction Essay: Shame, Silence and Pain in Emilie Pine’s Notes to Self and Sineád Gleeson’s Constellations” received the University of Vigo EGERIA gender perspective award to the best MA dissertation in the Humanities for 2021. She is a member of the Research Project “INTRUTHS 2: Articulations of Individual and Communal Vulnerabilities in Contemporary Irish Writing” PID2020-114776GB-I00 MCIN/AEI
