Regina M. Ponciano holds a PhD in Advanced English Studies (2024), an MA in Advanced English Studies (2016), a BA in English Language and Literature (2015), a BA in Modern Languages and Literatures (2014), and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in teacher training. Regina has served as an assistant lecturer at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and the University of Galway (Ireland), although her teaching experiences also encompass private education, vocational training, and volunteering. Her doctoral dissertation, titled “Oscar Wilde, the Short Story Writer”, was awarded AEDEI’s prestigious Inés Praga 2024 prize (ex aequo). Underpinned by an eclectic framework combining archival research and critical readings, this work corrected and contextualized canonical accounts of the production, publication, and reception of Wilde’s short story collections, and analysed the liminality in and of three short stories, including “The Canterville Ghost”. Regina is continuously expanding her website, wildeshortfiction.com, which makes the primary sources used in her dissertation freely available. In its current form, it provides a detailed descriptive bibliography, an extensive enumerative bibliography, and a database compiling 80 contemporary reviews of Wilde’s short story collections.
