Sharae Deckard is Associate Professor in the School of English, Drama, Film at University College Dublin. Her research interests intersect environmental criticism, energy humanities and world-ecology approaches to literature. Sharae is the Director of the UCD Environmental Humanities research strand, a member of the “Environmental Humanities” Steering Group for the Irish Humanities Alliance, and she is also on the Editorial Board for Liverpool Studies in Literature and the Environment. Her most recent book is Tracking Capital: World-Systems, World-Ecology, World-Culture, co-authored with Michael Niblett and Stephen Shapiro (SUNY 2024). Sharae has co-edited six special issues of journals, including: “Food, Energy, Climate: Irish Culture and World-Ecology”, Irish University Review 49.1 (2019); and “Ireland in the World-System”, Journal of World-Systems Research 22.1 (March 2016). With Treasa De Loughry, she is Co-I of the “Cultural Imaginaries of Just Transition” project at UCD.
