Tobias Harris recently completed his PhD on Brian O’Nolan and the European avant-garde at Birkbeck College, University of London. He is the winner of the ‘Best essay-length study on a Brian O’Nolan theme (2015–16)’ prize for ‘The Catastrophe of Cliché: Karl Kraus, Cruiskeen Lawn, and the Culture Industry,’ published the Parish Review, has published an essay, ‘Blather, Razzle and Dada’ in Modernist Cultures and a chapter on O’Nolan, Joyce and Irish cultural production in the recent Flann O’Brien: Gallows Humour collection.
